30th March, 1915

YMCA of Ipoh was founded by Rev. William Edward Horley, Dr KT Khong, Dr JS Lee, Mr A.H. Claessain, Mr Jabez Angood and Mr Aw Boon Soo in Hall of the Anglo Chinese School.

Rev William Edward Horleywas the first president of YMCA of Ipoh.

1915

YMCA of Ipoh had its first Club House in a shop house in Brewster Road(Jalan Sultan Idris Shah).

1928

YMCA of Ipoh Owned a modest club house at Togo Street (Cockman Street). Soon with the building acumen of Mr C. H. La Brooy, a 7 room hotel annex was built.

1930

The Government allotted the newly zoned recreational area which is now Taman D R Seenivasagam to the YMCA.

26th Apr 1950

YMCA of Ipoh was duly registered under the Societies Ordinance 1949 (Form 3) and as an exempted society No. 4 in Registrar of Societies (EM)1583/49.

1984

YMCA of Ipoh was given a new face lift and all the rooms were air-conditioned.

25th Feb 1991

YMCA Board of Directors appointed Mr Herbert J. Ho. Jr, Mr Tan Chi Kiong and Jefferey Liew Juen Chiew as trustees.

1993

The present New Wing was built.

25th March 2000

The YMCA Board of Directors revoled Article 3 of the Constitution and proposed that the following be appointed as trustees : Mr Stephen Pok Sheung Yee, Mr Letchimanan and Mr Hefferey Liew Juen Chiew.
